These Creepy McDonald’s Ads Could Only Come from Japan
Since Burger King retired their King mascot, it’s time for McDonald’s to get in on the creepy commercial scene. I have no idea if these are official, but they’re definitely spooky. The last of the three is definitely the best.
Also, anybody know what’s being said at the end? Let us know in the comments.

If this doesn’t make you love Arcade, then I don’t know.
Martin Solveig - Big In Japan Vs Cornershop (Mr Fonk Remix Mashup)
I’m not gonna lie to you guys: I’m kind of clocking this one in last minute but I do love the track, artist and mashups in general (even though this one which is a little bit slower an has fewer source materials than tracks by my usual favorite mashup artists Milkman or Girl Talk). Give it a listen and hopefully it’ll brighten your Columbus Day Eve. That’s a thing I think (I actually don’t but let’s just go with the joke).

I mixed Glue to the Halloween Party BGM for the Scott Pilgrim game. Here’s the usual download link in case anyone cares. Enjoy!

Wu-Tang Clan Super Game Boy Commercial Banned For Being Too Ill
Back in the 90’s, the Wu-Tang Clan, graffiti, and Nintendo were clearly too much of an incredible combination for the human brain to handle. Luckily, our collective consciousness has evolved, so we can soak in the radness without our heads exploding all over the place.
Wane, reas, wen, relm, jesto, rock a landmark wall in williamsburg brooklyn in 1993 for nintendo corp . the wall was painted entirely with spray paint & live action sequences were filmed. the music was produced by prince paul with voiceovers featuring wu-tang’s rza & ole’ dirty bastard. the video was banned from networks for being too ill.
“Hack and slash your way through a supermarket filled with aliens hiding in cereal boxes! The Government dogs have seen fit to outfit you with a sword…WOOF! That is all.”
Um… where do I begin?… This might be TL;DR x:.
This is the trailer for a game I helped my friends at USC with. One of the friends, Waylan, put this video together. This was done last fall, when I was barely learning basic animation.
They couldn’t find an artist, so they asked me to do art assets. I agreed ‘cause Waylan was a friend since middle school, and he seemed to be stressing over not finding an artist.
It was kind of like a taste of “contract-esque work”, and I got paid in Japanese curry (lol). For them it was an assignment, but for me it was done on my own time outside of school work, & I still had to follow their deadline schedule.

I linked the game on my site, so you can play it in its current state… but be warned it’s a prototype, meaning it’s kind of broken. Like, the monster damage intake doesn’t work, only the boss, among other things. Artwise too, when I look at things, I know now I should have done something diff. It’s a learning experience!
I guess my point is, if you wanna do something, take the risk! it may fail, but you’ll learn from mistakes, and it’s the only way you get better — same with drawing.
The guys actually don’t plan to work on it, ‘cause they ended up not liking flash too much. I might fix it in the future though, art assets and maybe try programming. It was an interesting experience none the less.
Anyways, I’m trying to do a space frog one on my own, but I enjoyed doing this team project.

Oh man. Only posting this ‘cause there’s been a few people asking to see the game-related stuff I’ve done, or if there’s anything they could play.
This is the only “close to done” thing I have up so far.
I’m sorry the prototype is kinda broken. For some reason I had probs playing it in chrome, like the char would freeze, or weapon will disappear. It played okay in firefox though… idk, it could be my computer too because it’s getting pretty old :/.
There’s two other projects I kind of worked on, but they’re really small contributions, & idk if they’ve posted those up.
Yume Nikki

In 2004, Japanese freeware developer Kikiyama popped open the RPG Maker 2003 game application and thought to himself “Hey, wouldn’t it be an awesome idea to make something that’ll creep a lot of people out?” Such is the origin of Yume Nikki (Japanese for “dream diary”), a bizarre adventure game that’s been described as “EarthBound meets Silent Hill” or “Eraserhead in RPG Maker” and does not fail with bringing the weirdness factor on.
The plot is simple: as Madotsuki, a Hikikomori that seems to have an obsession with a single, incredibly depressing video game, all you can do each day is sleep - during which you must travel throughout her dreamscape to collect “effects” and reach new areas in the world. It’s extremely open-ended, with little hints as to how to actually progress; really, it’s more about exploring the strange and disturbing things that go on in her mind than anything else. The current version of the game, 0.10, was released in October 2007 along with an English translation of the effects and menus.
